Why won't the Offenhauser 4bbl intake for the amc 258 not work with 1980 and below engines?
I want to put the 4 bbl intake on my 1974 258 but all of the websites I have seen say it only fit 1980 to present engines. (asked by twin capitanos on November 02, 2009)

A: Sounds like a tuning issue... I agree, take a look at the accelerator pump, sounds like not enough fuel get squirted when you hit the gas. (answered by boogie_4wheel on February 06, 2008)
A: sounds like youre excelerator pump squirters are to big or to small you will find these located in the primary butterflies look down in the throttle body they are held in with a phillips screw take it out be carful not to drop the screw or squirter into intake when you get them out there is a number on them jump up one number if it still does it go down one number this should help this (answered by johnhurd11470 on February 06, 2008)
