Q:

I have an acura 2001 cl and my hid ballast has died...can i put regular headlights?

i have a 2001 acura cl, and my headlight HID ballast has gone bad....i want to rip out the hid ballasts out and replace the hid headlights with something cheaper....like regular headlight bulbs....are there any kits that i can do that....Thanks any help will be greatly appreciated...

A: there are no conversions for going from HID to halogen. You can find ballasts fairly cheap on eBay and will plug right in. (answered by hondab16tuner on February 11, 2937)

Q:

Can the Xenon headlights from a current generation Acura TL go into a 1997 Acura CL?

I want to put Xenon headlights on but dont know if any newer Acuras have lights that would fit a 1997 Acura 3.0CL. I do not want to add a conversion kit or anything. I simply want to switch out the Xenon healight bulbs. Would that work?

A: Yes. Many people have retrofitted HID parts into non-hid headlights. You will need to get the HID ballasts and HID light bulbs and 99% of the time you will need to modify your current headlamps because it will not just all bolt on. If you're really handy, you can put honda s2k or tsx projectors into your lights like some people do, but that takes money and skill.

Edit: sounds like all you wanna do is change out the lightbulbs and get an HID effect. sorry that simply can't be done, you cant run hid bulbs without ballasts because there would be nothing to amplify the light output. (answered by Big Carp on January 12, 2008)

Q:

I am told I may need a ballace to get my headlights to work. I have a 02 Acura CL.?

I've tried to google ballace but I cant find anything. Anyone ever heard of this? I may be spelling it wrong.

A: You have an H.I.D. system? I think it's called ballast. (answered by vrrJT3 on February 11, 7920)
