Alfa Romeo previews Giulietta hatchback

But even this automotive icon was long past its sell-by date.

For Americans, the memory of Alfa Romeo faded faster than an Italian car rusting in the rain.  However, with Italy’s Fiat Group now holding the reigns at Chrysler, there is renewed chance that cars like the Giulietta could arrive in the U.S.

Several weeks ago, Fiat announced how it would integrate itself with Chrysler, as well as plans for new North American vehicles.  Pint-sized city cars, like the huggable Fiat 500, could arrive as early as next year.   The Dodge brand will also begin selling several rebadged versions of Fiat sedans and hatchbacks.

Noticeably lacking was any news concerning Alfa Romeo and its oft-delayed plan to return to North America.  The brand could certainly use the world’s largest automotive market to boost slumping sales.  Sergio Marchionne, in comments published by industry trade publication , last year’s sales total of 103,000 units is roughly half the volume Alfa managed to shift less than a decade ago.

(asked by kissidee92 on June 15, 2009)

A: Alfa. So much more fun. (answered by C7S on June 16, 2009)

A: Get the Jeep -
Replacement parts for the Alfa Romeo are too expensive - and with a car that old you're asking for problems.

Either way - just be sure to charge your friends for gas money :-) (answered by Rick on June 16, 2009)

Q:

Alfa Romeo 164 L 1991?

Ok. i am looking at an Alfa Romeo 164 L 1991 its a 4 door and has leather seats and is automatic . for what im told its italian and will last me forever. it only has 131 thousand on it for miles. and it run's great. Could anyone give me anymore info. like how long they usally do last. what usally goes wrong with them. what they are cosiderd like a sports car or a family car. anything like that how is the gas mileage anything like that. and would it be a good car to get. and what do they usally go for price wise for a used one
(asked by Minnesota Brat on March 17, 2009)

A: put a new paint job on it as soon as you get it. That way it will look good sitting on the side of the road... They get tremendous milage, once the paint dries and they are parked. (answered by jpturboprop on September 07, 7304)
