I have a 1998 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8 and just this morning I turned the car on and when I turn the steering wheel, I hear a whinning noise. What could this be? (asked by daango26 on May 06, 2007)
A: The noise is the pump caveatting by trying to pump air.
1: low fluid
2: foaming fluid
3: wear on the pump impeller letting fluid pass between pump impeller & housing. (answered by bvd1940 on May 06, 2007)

what rpm should I shift my 1998 audi a4?
hey i have a 1998 audi a4 and the engine is 2.8L. the car is automatic but it has a tiptronic that i like to use... but i was wondering at what RPM does the car perform best at? i think it redlines at around 7,000 but it automatically goes into gear once you go over 6,000 if anyone can tell me when to shift that would be great.. thanks!

Why would oil be in the socket with spark plugs on a 1998 Audi A4 Quattro?
I have a 1998 Audi A4 V6 Quattro. I recently went to change my spark plugs, when I pulled the boot off of one of the plugs I noticed there was oil on it (Oil was literally dripping from the boot). I checked all six of them and it's the same case for all. What would cause this? (asked by daango26 on March 29, 2007)
A: tube seals are failed...replace the valve cover gaskets and the tube seals..no more leak (answered by malemute1 on March 29, 2007)
