A: the older S4s which are turbo will not compete with the newer M3s. Not even the new V8 S4 will. Only the RS4 will hold its own against an M3. Also, the S4 and RS4 come standard with quattro. Quattro is the name of audis all-wheel drive system which is more like a 40/60 power split meaning that 60% of your power is going to the rear wheels and 40% to the front.
