Die Form des Austin-Healey 3000 stammt von 1952, entworfen von einem gewissen Gerry Coker. Der Erfolg: Der aktuelle Sprössling ist nicht nur der stärkste, sondern zugleich der kultivierteste seiner Familie. BMC, der Mutterkonzern, will ihn offenbar eine Klasse nach oben rücken, in die angesagte GT-Richtung, die dem Healey eigentlich völlig fremd ist. Sicher, über die Jahre verwässerten sie die Form ein wenig wie üblich eben. Die modellgepflegte "Phase 2"-Version, gerade eingeführt, bekommt zudem einen neuen Auspuff, der nicht Coker hatte zweifellos einen guten Tag, als er diese Linien zeichnete, denn ihm gelang der perfekte Roadster: ideale Proportionen, jede Rundung stimmt, sparsamer Schmuck.

A 1958 Jaguar XK150 Fixedhead Coupé set the tone, soaring to a hammer price 30 per cent higher than its top estimate, settling at £56,000.

A: absolutely. used to own one. 19767 was the last year or the last year imported to the states. had an electronic overdrive. very fun car to drive. like one of the people before said they had a Lucas electrical system and it was questionable at best (answered by bob the mechanic on May 24, 7180)
A: What ?!? It was a sports car from the early 1960's . If I remember correctly it had a straight six engine. It had a distinctive body design. But like all old British cars the electrical system sucked and was not a really reliable car. You don't know what they look like ? Steve martin drove one in the "Father of the Bride". A: According to Mossmotors.com, the only vehicle ID on the 3000s and the 100-6 is the number on the firewall. There is no separate VIN tag.
