It was a sports car from the early 1960's . If I remember correctly it had a straight six engine. It had a distinctive body design. But like all old British cars the electrical system sucked and was not a really reliable car. You don't know what they look like ? Steve martin drove one in the "Father of the Bride". A: The value depends on the level of restoration. It could take as much as $40,000 to fully restore it to like new condition. I suggest you find someone in your area to look at it before doing any serious work to it. Get some estimates for all the repairs before doing any of them.
Then with the estimates in hand decide what you want to do. This is a desirable antique collector car. It will have a considerable worth when restored. Do all your homework first, before doing anything else.
Get more than 1 estimate for everything, you get the best price for the best job that way. Get catalogs for the needed parts, Hemmings would be a good start, then search on-line from the Hemmings results.
I've spent 35 years in the high end luxury and sports car body body shop business. So heed every word of my advice. Keep the car stored inside if at all possible, this will prevent most of the further deterioration damage.
Good luck with your new hobby! I hope it works out for you! I wish someone would give me a sprite ! I envy you and your good fortune! (answered by Super Man on August 11, 2006)
