Honda Civic, Cadillac Escalade atop list of most frequently stolen vehicles
TORONTO — The Honda Civic has again wheeled into the top spot on a list of most frequently stolen vehicles, but the number of high-end models being snatched is a sign of growing appetite among auto thieves for luxury rides, according to the Insurance Bureau of Canada.
Rick Dubin, the bureau's vice-president of investigations, says they've seen the two-door, 2000 Civic SiR atop the list before. The 1999 model of the vehicle came in third this year.
"There's lots of them on the road, probably a demand for parts," he said of the vehicle. "Also they can be modified, which we've seen, so they've been souped up, and these vehicles are very sporty, so they're a desired type of vehicle."
But Dubin said the real concern on the list relates to the proliferation of luxury vehicles. The 2006 Hummer H2 four-door and four different four-door makes of the Cadillac Escalade are in the top 10.

Q:
What type of gas do you use for a 2006 BMW x5?
I just purchased a BMW x5 and was wondering what type of gas do you use? Premium? Regular? I also have a 2005 Honda Accord and Honda is built to use regular gas(asked by JoJo07 on September 07, 4564)
A: Bor the BMW, 93 Octane if available otherwise use 92. If you use regular gas, you engine will knock. (answered by BostonJeffy on September 07, 4016)
A: Premium unleaded gas (answered by casxsdc on September 07, 5326)Q:
Has anyone had any major engine problems with 2005-2006 BMW X5 3.0i?
I have heard to stay away from the 3.0i because its not a good engine. I haven't heard any specific problems with it, just to stay away and get the 4.4i. I can tell they get about the same gas mileage but was wondering what the big deal is.(asked by TX7 on April 15, 2008)
A: I've had 2 BMWs with the 3.0 engine and have never had a problem with either. I purchased an '07 X5 4.4 after driving the 3.0 and finding it underpowered. Given that the ride and power of the V8 is so much greater than the 3.0 six and given that the difference in fuel economy is essentially 1 mpg (which you will lose if you drive it aggressively), I can't see why you would consider the 3.0 anyway. But, the X5 sure does suck up the gas which is now over $4.15 per gallon for premium in California. Sure you don't want a hybrid? :-) (answered by mzwerin@prodigy.net on April 15, 2008)
Q:
I have a Bmw X5 2006. My service engine light just came on this morning. What are possible problems?
How do i turn off the service engine light?(asked by Seth on August 19, 2009)
A: Ok, time for the correct answer.
The service engine light comes on when there is a emission problem with the car. If the car is not running bad, it is not critical, but need to be corrected. The most common problem in BMW service engine light is the gas cap is loose, the car was fueled up while running or the gas cap has a bad seal. Make sure it is tight and if that is the problem it will go out in a day or so. There are several hundred other possible reasons it came on. If it does not go out in a day or so you will need to bring it in to get it looked at.
Hope this helps (answered by PARTSMAN on August 20, 2009)
