Cadillac To Challenge BMW Head-On With New 3-Series Fighter

It’s larger than a BMW 3-series, for instance, and smaller than a 5-series. Now, however, GM says it’s going to take on BMW directly with a new offering: a 3-series fighter called (for now, anyway) the ATS. The Cadillac CTS family — sedan, coupe, wagon and high-performance V-series models — have carried much of the load for the brand, but the CTS doesn’t really go head-to-head with any of its European counterparts. Cadillac sold 146,000 vehicles in 2010, well behind the 220,000-plus that BMW, Mercedes and Lexus sold. General Motors’ Cadillac brand has enjoyed a nice resurgence over the past decade, but it hasn’t really presented much of a threat to the leading import luxury brands.

Q:

How do you take the roof down on a bmw 3 series convertible 2004?

My boyfriend just got a bmw 3 series convertible 2004 reg as a company car. It didn't come with a manual and we cant figure out how to take the roof down. Please help.
Does the car need to be switched off?
(asked by Laura S on February 05, 1234)

A: i have a 2003 3 series convertible.

idk what the 1st guy to comment is talking about LOL

i just push and hold a button and it goes down.

the button is located right under the cig lighter
closesst to the drive and above the shifter (answered by The Captain on February 05, 2252)

A: There should be a latch on each side of the top where it comes in contact with the window frame. Unlock those and put you windows down and push the button that moves the top.

I think you can download the manual online I did a quick search for it.

Q:

What is the difference between a BMW 3 and 5 series?

I'm looking specifically for info on maintenance required for each. Does series 5 BMW's require more maintenance than series 3?
(asked by amee m on December 20, 2006)

A: This a rather open question as you have not mentioned any years or what generation BMWs you are looking at.

In general, the difference between the 3 and 5 series is simply size. They have different powertrains as well (with some overlapping engines). So basically, reliability is the same for both models. For more specific reliability data, go to msnauto.com and checkout the reliability rankings. Hope that helps. (answered by golferdude on December 20, 2006)

Q:

What are the differences between the different bmw 3 series?

Im 19 looking to buy a car and im looking at the 1992-1998 generation of the bmw 3 series but there are so many i was just wondering the differences
(asked by Colin D on February 05, 1333)

A: The "i" stands for injected, and they are all inline 6 cylinder engines, not V6s. BMW no longer uses any 4 cylinder engines in USA. So stick with 323 and up (6 cylinders).
Here is a list of the letters, not all apply to 3-series.
The system of letters is as follows:

* d = diesel
* i = fuel-injected
* x = all wheel drive (xDrive)
* L = long wheel base
* C = coupe (no longer used)
* T = touring (wagon/estate)
* t = hatchback
* g = biogas
* s = sport package (Sports seats in the front, spoiler on the rear, improved gearbox, custom rims)
* si= sports injection (the new range of x5, x3 and z4 engines)
* e = eta (essentially "economy" in English)
* es = eta sport (answered by M333 on February 11, 2008)
