BMW Motorcycles: July Sales Up 10.3%

BMW Motorcycle Sales BMW continued dramatic growth for the month of July, just as the Bavarian motorcycle manufacturer had for the first half of 2011. Moreover, the motorcycle manufacturer presented the new G 650 GS, yet another particularly appealing GS model with a single cylinder engine. At the start of the 2011 season, Bavarian motorcycle customers benefited from the revised flat-twin engine roadster BMW R 1200 R that for the first time will also be available as a classical variant. These innovative, de luxe touring motorcycles with six cylinder inline engines are the first of their kind in the history of BMW Motorrad. For the first seven months of 2011, BMW has sold 71,634 motorcycles, which is up 6. For July 2011, a total of 11,054 motorcycles were delivered to customers, which was up 10.

You Ask We Answer

Q:

Can a 2,000 BMW F 650 GS Motorcycle be fitted with an ABS breaking system?

(asked by azulladosiempre on February 10, 6417)

A: It can be done however, it would be cheaper to buy a newer bike w/ ABS.

You have to change the rotors front & rear to the ABS rotors
Add the sensors to the wheel
Redo the brake lines to use the centralized ABS pump/controller.
Sure I'm missing some other stuff...

Just the parts cost is overwhelming. (answered by KrautRocket on February 10, 85)

A: you can do anything

Q:

I'm in Tyler Texas, and I need a BMW mechanic to look at my GS 1200 which died. Any recommendations on where?

I could go to either Shreveport LA. or Dallas Texas, or Fort Worth, and I wanted to know about which dealerships reasonably close to Tyler Texas were the most competent. I think I have some kind of electrical problem with my GS 1200 BMW motorcycle. It just turned off instrument panel and all while crossing the border from Mexico.
This is really more of a question for people in the area as I am passing through. There are several dealers/service centers roughly equal distance from where I am, and I am just trying to figure out if there are preferences, from my experience before, I have been treated better at some dealerships than others.
(asked by J on November 01, 2009)

A: Go to this link. Contact the Texas listing. They'll steer ya straight
