Q:

Is it possible for first time rider to ride BMW K1200S or BMW R1200GS or BMW F800ST?

If No, please state why ( Example, too fast, wont be able to handle, too big, etc. ) I would appreciate if it was from a experienced rider or a BMW rider him/her-self, If you don't think a BMW bike is suitable for first time rider, it would be really helpful if you could recommend me a similar bike, prob a sports bike too ?
(asked by David. on September 28, 2008)

A: It is not recommended. Those are big... BIG engines for a first time rider. The acceleration and weight are too high you. I can see why you like them, I mean they are beautiful bikes, but your first day out, you drop it and reality sets in that you are out of your league. The K1200S for example weight 530lbs in it's ready to ride state, has 167 hp (enormous for a bike), 96 ft lbs of torque (also huge), and a 1157 cc engine. A better choice for you would be a Kawasaki Ninja 250R to the Ninja 650R (not anything bigger). If you don't like Japanese rice rockets, maybe something Italien would be better... like a Ducati 696 Monster that's sweet and foreign, everything you seem to be looking for. Q:

Is the BMW R1200gs the best ever motorcycle?

(asked by forrestgumpjnr on February 05, 1725)

A: I have seen first hand a gs destroying sportsbikes, blades,r1's etc its a very capable bike and in the right hands WILL! embarrass 90% of sports bikes, lets face it not many of us can push our bikes to the limit anyway (even though we think we can) imagine Valentino Rossi on a GS and you on your blade? I would bet everything on Rossi wouldnt you, I think its a top bike but for me its to expensive. (answered by kiddy on October 01, 2006)

A: Nope. (answered by Darren R on February 05, 1789)

Q:

what is the invoice price for a 2007 bmw r1200gs?

does anyone know where I can find the info
(asked by aj on February 21, 2007)

A: That depends on where you live. In the states, the 07' r1200gs is US$14,875 without options. In the UK, it's £9,095. And in Germany, it's 12,360 EUR

The R1200GS Adventure is a more expensive model though--by about $2000. it comes with a larger fuel tank, knobbie tires, enduro footpegs, and a bunch of other things that are more offroad and distance touring oriented.

Nice bike, btw... (answered by Driveshaft on February 21, 2007)
