Q:

Im looking for a rearend from a Monte Carlo SS or Buick GN; how do I tell if the rearend is limited slip...?

...or open when I have the car jacked up?
When I turn one wheel forward; should the opposite one go backward if its a limited slip?
Thanks!
(asked by pontiacpowered71 on October 03, 2007)

A: if it's posi both wheels will turn in the same direction and if it's a single wheeler one wheel will turn one way and the other wheel will turn the opposite. (answered by mister ss on October 04, 2007)

A: there should be a small aluminum id tag on one of the rear end cover bolts, your local dealer should be able to decipher the tag. while jacked up, a posi unit should allow both tires to roll forward when one is spun in that direction, while a lim. slip will rotate the opposite direction. Unless the posi is bad, and it may seem to be a lim. slip (answered by logan_sell on October 03, 2007)

Q:

looking at buying an '87 buick gnx in a few years as an investment c?

i'm wanting to get some of you for '87 buick gnx owners opinions if i should wait until i can get a job before i decide to buy an '87 buick gnx to have and take to local car shows which i know the '87 buick gnx is at $114,000.00 right now or should i attempt to find an '87 buick gn.
alfred go to www.nada.com and go to the classic car section then click the year 1987 then buick and after that gnx and you'll find out that i'm right on the current value of this car

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here - carinsurance.enacre.net (answered by AIM X on February 16, 2009)

A: Car? Investment?

Don't make us laugh.

That GNX you speak of is only worth $114,000 IF someone buys it for that much.

So, fat chance of that car being worth that much. (answered by alfredb1979 on February 05, 574)

(asked by king_ton1988 on August 02, 2007)

A: Yes the GN is one hell of a car. I helped a friend who buit a regal into his own GN, and it was an excellent all around car with a few bolt ons.

Plus they hold there value like a fat man hold on to a donut. (answered by thechaleman on August 02, 2007)
