The wheels were taken from the Citroen Saxo VTR overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday. Police are keen to hear from anyone who has been offered a set of wheels for a Saxo for sale, or knows the whereabouts of the items. It's believed the theft took place in the hours of darkness as it would have taken some time to remove the wheels. Officers believe the wheels were stolen to order, or for use on the thief's car. Police are investigating after a car at a dealer's forecourt in Foxdale was left on blocks.
Q:
A: That would depend entirely on the year of manufacturer.
An acceptable mileage on a car 3 years old would be an amazing mileage on a 7 year old car...e.g. a 2006 model with 30,000 miles is about average....a 2002 model with 30,000 is barely used.
Dead electrics are common on french cars...so check all the windows, lights, heaters etc. (answered by crabbo_2 on September 07, 2009)
Q:
A: The VTR has a 90bhp 1.6 engine (100bhp from 1999).
The VTS uses a 120bhp 1.6 16v unit.
The VTS has ABS as standard, it's an option on the VTR.
The VTS has an oil temperature gauge, electric heated mirrors, retractable rather than fixed rear head rests.
The VTR has 14" alloys as standard, the VTS has 15". (answered by J G on September 06, 2008)

A: If it's reliability you're after then I'd advise staying away from Saxos (and Citroens) in general. They were a horrendously unreliable car when new never mind at 10 years old. My wife's was bought new from Citroen with the first major repairs being a full new gear box at 12,000 miles and by 30,000 miles it was ready for scrapping. They are also one of the worst cars of their time for safety.
From what you've said you should look at German or Japanese diesels to achieve what you're looking for. A VW diesel engine (for example a Polo as a Saxo alternative) will be good for 200,000 miles. (answered by Yellabowley on September 08, 2009)
