Sports models, muscle cars, 'Vettes make noise at annual Street Thunder car show. That was good news for Coastal Carolina Corvette Club, which sponsored the Street Thunder Open Car, Truck & Bike show at Tanger Outlets in North Charleston. Car buffs looked in windows and gazed at polished exteriors on 210 vehicles at an annual event Saturday in North Charleston. Few C3 Corvette models were built with the orange color, he said. He showed a rare orange 1973 Corvette Stingray. The car has its original 350 cubic inch engine. Todd bought the Stingray in 2006 but it had been stored in a garage for years while he was stationed in Germany. But what also excites the club are presenters such as Douglas Todd. "I just moved here in the Air Force," he said.

Q:

How much for a 1978 Datsun 280Z?

Looking to get a car to restore and we found one we think like which we think can get at a fairly cheap price. We are going to ask for it at $300 and see what the guy says.

*Car is on its 3rd engine, which has about 40K on it & hasn't been running for the past year.

*The floor is all rusted out and needs replacing.

*Some minor hail damage.

Q:

1978 Datsun 280z with the 2.8 liter fuel injection and I'm having idling issues?

have a 1978 Datsun 280z with the 2.8 fuel injection. When I am driving down the road if i push the clutch in (so that the engine has no load on it) it revs up to about 2 1/2 to 3 thousand RPM's it only does this after the engine has warmed up. when i come to a stop the engine goes back to normal idling WHAT COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE THIS!!!!!!! I really like this car and would like to get it to great working condition. I would greatly appreciate any help you could possibly give me on this issue.

A: My first answer would be that your carbureator (sp) needs to be adjusted, but then I realized that fuel-injected systems lack that (sorry; I used to have a Datsun 240Z w/a carb system).

You can go on zcars.com; this site has loads of 280Z owners/mechanics that can help you as well. (answered by bethanne on January 05, 2009)
