Q:
Engine problem Datsun 6 Cylinder?
I have a
Datsun 330 with an L26 engine and single nikki carb. I suspect the engine is fairly warn and I have found a little carbon build up on the 3 and 4 spark plugs. I need this car to get to and from college (which is up the highway signposted at 110) and I notice at 105 k/ph the car jerks and throws me back and forward in the drivers seat every so often which I put down to a couple of fouled plugs misfiring at fairly high revs....Today I could have sworn there was a backfire and I cleaned the plugs up 2 days ago and they actually looked fine, save for the carbon build up (I used a lil sandpaper to cean them up)....I am wondering if it could be an air leak causing the jerking on the highway?? Does this sound right or is there something else im missing?? I have had the carb rebuilt twice, but someone mentioned it may be an electrical condenser needing replacing. Any Ideas??
No it does not have EFI its just a gas guzzling carb equipped datsun L26 Engine.

A: check out the electrical , new rotor , cap , condenser , coil and wires , these will cause high speed misfires , good luck. (answered by sterling m on March 15, 2007)
A: I was gonna say try cleaning out the throttle body. I assume you checked little things from the distributor cap the spark plug wires. Probably cleaned the battery cables. When my 02 sensor went out i had similar problems. I didn't even get a check engine light for that one. I also had similar problems when my EGR valve died.

Q:
gas mileage for a 1976 datsun truck?
It's lowered 3 inches with 87,500 miles on it, tuned pretty nice from what i've heard, and is the 2.0 110-horse motor with the 4-speed manual... what's the gas mileage for town, city, and combined??
the reason for asking is i've heard these trucks can get up to 40mpg on the highway
(asked by cali_is_boring_17 on August 07, 2009)
A: 40 mpg are you kidding? anyway my old Nissan Lil Hustler with carburator B20B motor used to get 17 to 27 highway and as low as 13 in town. I think once I got as high as 30 coasting down the rocky mountains. Areodynamic those trucks were not. ANd the cab of the truck is not large enough to be confortable for a 6' tall or taller person no leg room. (answered by on August 08, 2009)
A: Hard to know without driving it, knowing your driving style and knowing the gear ratio.
I would guess 15mpg on a good day
