Dwayne Vaughn was a little worried when he looked in his rear view mirror as he was hauling his just-purchased 1968 Camaro coupe away on a trailer. "It had to be a stick shift car," said Vaughn, who chose a close-ratio 1997 Firebird 6-speed manual transmission to bolt behind a reworked smallblock Chevy V-8. A friend, Earl Lauer, built the engine, using a Street and Performance tunnel port... "It was a ’68 Camaro in body only … it was minus the engine," Vaughn recalled of that day about 10 years ago. The only two pristine pieces on the car were the roof and the driver’s side mirror. By then, the mirror had been knocked off and the roof had been dented in. The plan was to rebuild the Camaro using a modern drive train, suspension, brakes, wheels and interior. Although it had heavy body damage to the left rear and the right front, it was a project he wanted to take on. "It kind of sat around until about 2008, when we started working on it," he said. I have rims on a datsun 240z and found snow tires and want to know if they will fit

A: should have no problem. the 14 in the number that must match exactly. the other numbers can vary a little. the center num is the height of the tire from rim to edge. that can vary a little with out a problem especially since you are going a little smaller.
