2010 Nissan 370Z Roadster - The Detroit News November 21, 2009
Back then, it was the Datsun 240Z. The only thing the newest member of the sport's car legacy has in common with the Datsun is the Z. The 2010 Nissan 370Z and more »
I recently spotted this red Datsun 240Z in a parking garage near the office. The car was light and sleek like a racer and many were turned into race cars and campaigned in Sports Car Club of America competition and with other sanctioning groups. But purists don’t seem to raise much fuss when this happens to an old Z. But the 240Z has never been especially popular among collectors despite its beautiful shape and the sensation it caused when new. With many 40-year-old collectible cars these types of modifications would make one cringe.
Q:
A: I am not 100% sure what happened to the 240Z rally car, but the 510 rally car is in Nissan's museum in Japan. I would probably be safe to assume that it is in the same place. The rally cars were used only in other countries so I really don't think any of them would be in the US. Thats why you only see replicas here. (answered by 510Driver on September 22, 2006)

A: Yes and No.
When they released the Nissan 350z in 2003, they talked about the older Z's. They showed the 240z, but they did not drive and test it.
In another episode, they raced Old vs New cars.
It was the all of the older Nissan Z cars vs the Nissan 350z in a drag race. The 300zx won the drag race. 350z was 2nd. 280z was 3rd, 240z was 4th. (answered by C7S on April 10, 2009)
