South Bay's Chet Pipkin may be the most famous tech mogul to come from Hawthorne

Chet Pipkin is the most famous tech mogul you've probably never heard of, even though he came of age in the South Bay, and even though you've probably purchased some of his products. Just as Zuckerberg co-created Facebook in a dorm room, Pipkin, 50, launched his business, Belkin International - now an industry leader in connectivity products - from his parents' garage in the Hollyglen neighborhood of Hawthorne. Much like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs, Pipkin is a college dropout.

Q:

Complete Specs on a 1970 Datsun Roadster?/?

Can it take dual exhaust??

What is the curb weight??

I can find the easy stuff, but what about other stuff like turning radius??

Thanks
(asked by Man of Ideas on March 17, 2008)

A: 1600 and 2000 roadsters were Datsun's first attempts to sell MGB like cars in the United States. The motors were to small and truck like turning radius? curb weight? back issues of Road and Track. Spliting a four cyl engines manifold for dual exhaust? The old Roadster was rare indeed just try to restore it back completely stock it won't be worth anything modified. Also watch out for overheating that was the problem that plagued those motors. (answered by on March 17, 2008)

A: You might be able to go online to find the answers you are looking for maybe datsun.com or see if someone might have a manual on that model. A local parts store might have what your looking for as well. Good luck on your search. (answered by lowell b on March 17, 2008)

Q:

what is a datsun roadster?

(asked by j h on October 18, 2006)

A: Datsun (now Nissan) had some fun little roadsters in the late sixties, a 1600 and a 2000.

Cool little cars - my calculus professor had one, as I remember.

There's a good article with pictures at the link below. (answered by DidacticRogue on October 18, 2006)
