Amelia woman dies in crash
An Amelia County woman died this morning in a single-vehicle crash in Chesterfield County.
Virginia State Police say alcohol was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
Jennifer O. Smith, 38, of the 12000 block of Old Chula Road in Amelia, was driving a 2001 Dodge Dakota south on Powhite Parkway, less than a mile south of Midlothian Turnpike, around 3:45 a.m. this morning when the vehicle ran off the road. Smith overcorrected and ran off the road again, striking a guardrail before the vehicle overturned onto its roof.
Police said Smith was not wearing her seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger, Jackie C. Chambers, 40, of Farmville, was not wearing a seat belt, police said, and suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to VCU Medical Center.

Q:
I have 2001 Dodge Dakota and its throwing a code that is P0700 what does this mean?
I have 2001 Dodge Dakota and its throwing a code that is P0700 what does this mean?(asked by DUDE on February 16, 2007)
A: P0700 means that the engine controller has seen a trouble code in the transmission controller. It can be anything from low fluid, to a loose connection, to an internal problem in the transmission. The two controllers (engine and trans.) are usually in the same ECU, mounted on the engine side of the firewall in front of the passenger. Without a scan tool, you have no idea what the transmission code is, or where the problem lies. Your best option is to have a dealer scan the codes and do a quick check. Most will do it for around 1/2 hour labour. Common problems are with the governor pressure sensor and solenoids, or the lockup torque converters. There may be a computer update available to cure your trouble as well. That's the reason to take it to a dealer. They have access to more information than your average shop and it usually winds up being a cheaper repair in the long run. (answered by camshaft on February 16, 2007)
A: I don't know that specific code but if you go to a Auto Zone store and ask the clerk to look it up for you in their computer, they'll tell you. (answered by Jose E on February 16, 2007)Q:

Q:
2001 dodge dakota abs and brake light on?
I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota 4x4 with the 3.9 and the abs and brake light came on but the truck stops fine and the parking brake works what could the issue be?(asked by Ryan on September 11, 7505)
A: here we go,there's about 30 things that can actually cause both lights to come on,first off if your foot got caught under the brake pedal and you pulled upwards on the brake pedal that will cause this to happen, secondly if there's a loss of pressure in the abs unit it has a sensor in it that will also cause both lights to come on,also there's a wheel sensors on each wheel that if anyone goes bad it can also set the lights on,any loss of fluid pressure from a leaking wheel cylinder or a caliper will also trigger both lights to come on,most of the time if your sure the brakes shoes and pads are really good on it and there's no loss of pressure that will be a bad brake light switch that's causing that to happen, even a blown fuse for the abs unit will cause both lights to come on,i could go on and on with possible causes of that happening but those are the most likely ones ,to check first, the reason the brake light switch will cause this too happen is its adjustable and pulling upwards or getting your foot caught under it pulls it out of adjustment, good luck.
