What will make my Dodge Dakota exhaust sound nice?

I'm looking for something under $200 that make make my 2001 v6 3.9l Dodge Dakota sound nice (exhaust). I dont want it to sound like a tuner car, but something along the line of a muscle car. Please help.

A: A V6 will always sound like a V6 no matter what you do. It will never have the nice sound of a V8. It will never sound like a muscle car.

This is because of the differences in engine desighn between a V6 and a V8, and there is nothing you can do to this engine to change this.

Dodge Dakota Exhaust Leaking?

My Dodge Dakota is getting louder every time I drive it. It's leaking right by the firewall where the exhaust pipe connects into the exhaust manifold or something like that. Just wondering, does anyone know how much a garage would charge to fix something like that? Thank you.

A: you have bad exhaust flange gaskets, you can buy them at most autoparts stores there not very expensive maye $ 15.00 or lower getting the old ones loose can be a bear usually you have to heet the bolts and try to get them off ,nine out of ten times they will break but if you replace them it wont matter (answered by michael h on April 26, 2009)

I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota, the exhaust manifold has a whole in it, and I was wondering if I can replace the stock ones, with Exhaust Headers and what is a good one to get?

A: yes you can, but the price is varies depending on the engine. the 5.9 headers are cheaper than the 4.7 headers.
