Q:

How do I replace the floor in my 1965 Ford Mustang?

I'm restoring a 1965 Ford Mustang. I've stripped it down to a rolling chassis, and in the process discovered that the floor panels are rusted through in several places. I've also discovered evidence that the car had been in a front-end collision. I wanted to do a lot of the body work myself, but now I'm worried that cutting out the entire floor will cause the chassis to bend. I'm also worried that the chassis may already distorted due to the collision. How do I replace the floor without warping the chassis, and how can I be sure that the chassis is straight?
(asked by spudmustang on September 19, 2006)

A: check with yearone I believe they sell floor pans, just cut out the old one, clean up the area and have the new pan welded in place.

I think the website is www.yearone.com they have a mustang specific catalog (answered by Mike C on September 19, 2006)

Q:

Where is a good place to buy a 1965 Ford Mustang online besides ebay motors?

I am from Texas and am looking to buy a 1965 Ford Mustang. I'v checked ebay motors and craigslist. My budget is around $5000. Any tips?
(asked by JDC on January 04, 2008)

A: You're kind of limiting yourself by just looking online.

Here is a site devoted to Mustangs:

http://www.mustangclassifieds.com/index. php?page=search&cid=10&s_res=AND

As already mentioned, Autotrader.com might have some Mustangs. You can also access many newspaper classifieds online.

You can go to a bookstore and pick up a copy of Hemmings Motor News (a great source for cars and parts).

If you were to expand your search, you can usually find Mustangs at swap meets. Sometimes you'll find a good deal, sometimes not. (answered by Jason S on January 04, 2008)
