2008 Ford F150, installed a cold air intake & performance muffler. Why does it seem like my Mpg decreased?
I knew most would say heavier foot, but didn't have room in my question to say DRIVING HABITS HAVE not changed. Supposedly the performance muffler is suppose to help by reducing back pressure on engine. (asked by Steve on April 07, 2009)
A: More hp=More fuel required
More Fuel=Less MPG
Better sound/feel driving=Driver faster
Start driving slower than you did. You would be supprised how easily it will jump back and maybe get better. The more horses you have without changing the air/fuel ratio too much the better economy you should get, theory wise. Of course it doesnt always work out that way. Thats a big beefy v8 there and it loves to breath. When you added that the decrease in mpg is just a way of it to say thank you, along with the mean tone and the more fun driving. A: 1. Your truck HAD a cold air intake to start with. The intake leading away from the engine, towards the bumper, to get cold air? Cold air intake. So, swapping it basically did nothing except change to a chrome pipe.
2. No such thing as a performance muffler. It will change the sound, but do absolutely nothing for performance. Might as well say that you have performance socks.
More than likely, you enjoy the new sound of your truck, and are driving it harder. This happens with...oh...about 99% of drivers who put modifications on their vehicles.
Stop trying to hear your exhaust, and just drive normal. Your MPG should go back to normal. (answered by Vipassana on April 07, 2009)

Does the 2008 Ford F150 FX2 package come with running boards?
Just wondering, because there are some dealers here in my city that have fx2's with no running boards. Another dealer mentioned something about how some dealers remove them, then recharge you later to add them.

A: In 2008, the Ford F-150 FX2 package is an option on the XLT trim level. It includes FX2 sport floor mats, power heated turn signal mirrors, fog lamps, key less entry keypad, and a power driver's seat. It could be ordered with or without running boards - they were not included. I won't comment on the misdemeanor slander committed by the false felony accusations. Can a 2008 Ford F150 Supercrew Lariat with captain's chairs seat a maximum of 5 passengers or 6 passengers?
The base level Ford F-150 Supercrew cab seats 6 passengers, 3 in the front seat in a 40-20-40 configuration and 3 in the rear seat. If there are two captain's chairs in the front does this always eliminate the 3rd front middle passenger option? (asked by sanjosenative on September 01, 2008)
