Carroll's 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac was traveling south on the road when it left the right side of the road for unknown reasons and struck the overpass's embankment head-on, said Franklin County Sheriff's Deputy Russ Persons. Carroll's vehicle was deflected off the embankment, traveled across two lanes of the road and struck a concrete median. Julian Carroll died Sunday after being injured in a traffic crash in Franklin County, authorities said. The crash occurred about 12:15 p. m. Sunday on U. S. 421 near the Versailles Road overpass. Bradley Carroll, 47, was pronounced dead at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center, where he was taken after the wreck.
