Q:

Can a 1998 and up GMC Jimmy headlights and grill be installed onto a 1996 GMC Jimmy?

I have a 1996 GMC Jimmy, but don't like the front headlights and grill. On the 1998 GMC Jimmy's and up, i love the head lights and grill. Is there anyway possible the newer model style would bolt onto my 1996. I want to completely take of the front of my 1996 and change it to a 1998 and up. Please let me know. Thanks
(asked by Ronnie on February 09, 3041)

A: Yes, there is no difference in the side panels or hood, the only difference maybe the bumper, but go to ebay and you can find a front clip fairly cheap and worse comes to worse may have to switch the bumper but i don't think you will. (answered by Demolition Man on February 09, 9187)

Q:

How to change water pump on 1996 GMC Jimmy?

Hubby is trying to change the water pump on our GMC Jimmy. He cannot get the fan off to access the water pump. What is the trick here? He's trying to do more of the maintenance on our cars to save $$$$ --but it sure is a bear!
(asked by Leonard F on February 09, 7448)

A: First look at the new water pump, you will notice the threads are either left or right hand threaded. Once you have determined the thread direction, you will know in what direction to remove the fan. Take a large drift punch and place it on the high side of the fastening bolt. strike it with a hammer and the jolt will loosen the grip of the bolt and allow you to remove it. This may take several tries, but it does work, I have used the process numerous times. (answered by Richard S on February 09, 9554)
