2007 GMC 2500-which fuse(s) is bad?
I own a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500HD. I have several electronic features that recently stopped working. They include; power windows (front and back on passenger side), seat warmers (both sides), seat adjustment (both sides), Several months ago the cigarette lighter and phone charger outlet stopped working, I changed the 15 amp fuse that is marked "cig ltr" but no change. There have to be nearly 75 fuses in the 3 fuse blocks and it appears at least some of these are related. Anybody have a guess where I start first? (asked by Tubby on March 24, 2009)
A: I've been studying the service manual for this truck for close to 45 minutes. The electrical system on these trucks is a nightmare. I'm having a hard time finding a common denominator for all of the electrical issues you have. Probably the most common link between the seats and windows is the body control module. I don't think you are going to find a single fuse that has blown. I think there may be a more serious issue such as a faulty body control module or a wiring issue. It seems as though a 2007 should still be under the 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty. The first thing I would do if this vehicle came to me in the dealer is to check the body control module, as well as all other modules, for any diagnostic codes stored in the memory. I know it seems strange to have a diagnostic code for heated seats and power windows inop but that is the way things have evolved. The body control module controls so many functions it's scary. I would also need more information such as the vin to be able to decode which options your truck was built with. A: Well, the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor is located on the air intake duct between the filter and the throttle body (Assuming you have the 6L motor). The wires are easily visible at the plug that connects the sensor to the wiring harness. That's the easiest place to access them. (answered by streeker02 on February 17, 2008)
