The Kolar Automotive Group broke ground on a new Chevrolet, Buick and GMC Dealership Thursday. It's being built on land that was formerly home to the Runway Bar and Grill. Kolar staff said between several dealerships, the automotive group employs about 150 people. Employees said they could have gotten by without a new building, but are thrilled Kolar took the risk of investing in volatile economic times. "You guys could have went ahead and put some paint on the walls, made some changes to the exterior, and I think we would have been alright with that," said Regis Buckley, Manager of Chevrolet Zone.

A: According to an old Mitchell Collision Estimating Guide an '86 grille would NOT fit a '79.

Can a 1998 and up GMC Jimmy headlights and grill be installed onto a 1996 GMC Jimmy?
I have a 1996 GMC Jimmy, but don't like the front headlights and grill. On the 1998 GMC Jimmy's and up, i love the head lights and grill. Is there anyway possible the newer model style would bolt onto my 1996. I want to completely take of the front of my 1996 and change it to a 1998 and up. Please let me know. Thanks

A: Yes, there is no difference in the side panels or hood, the only difference maybe the bumper, but go to ebay and you can find a front clip fairly cheap and worse comes to worse may have to switch the bumper but i don't think you will. (answered by Demolition Man on February 05, 9187)

A: You will need the inner and outer grille for the swap. The headlights and turn signals are the same parts between the two.
This is a direct bolt-on swap; no modifications required.
The grille from any non-W/T model GMC truck from '93-98 will work, as well as the '93-99 SUV. Prior to '93, the corner lights/reflectors had a difference design. (answered by boogie_4wheel on October 12, 2009)
