You Ask We Answer

Q:

How do you check the transmission fluid in a 1978 gmc rv?

also how much fluid does it hold?
(asked by speedy on June 22, 2007)

A: The fluid dip stick should be under the hood on the Passenger side and the fluid should be checked when the engine is hot and running with the trans in park. The system holds a total of about 12 quarts totally empty, just dropping the pan and changing the filter would be about 5 quarts (answered by kato outdoors on June 22, 2007)

A: mm use a dipstick sexy (answered by castro134 on June 22, 2007)

Q:

How much do you think a 1977 GMC Chinook RV would be worth. Every thing works and in good condition?

is 3500 to much. it has had 3 owners. can't find blue book on it as it is too old
(asked by bgd_1955 on May 04, 2007)

A: $3500 is not too much if it is in good shape. Most have issues with the holding tanks(leaks) and the subflooring(rot). Take it to an RV shop and have an assessment done. It may cost you $150 to have done, but that is a lot less than a $3500 anchor in the driveway. (answered by rex_rrracefab on May 04, 2007)

A: $2500 tops it`s a gas hog.10-12MPG (answered by Don E on May 04, 2007)

Q:

Manual (manf. or Haynes) for a 1977 GMC Midas Motorhome RV?

I really just need the repair book such as a Haynes manual. What would be similar to a 1977 GMC Midas RV/Motor-home (class A)
(asked by x_kookoo4kokopuffs_x on August 23, 2009)

A: I have never seen an aftermarket manual (Haynes nor others) for a motor-home. The old GMC's have a following and I have run across some clubs devoted to them. You might try Googling for a GMC RV club to see if some who own them can help you out. (answered by mustanger on August 23, 2009)
