" Given that the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Hybrid and the GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid make up a small portion of pickup truck sales right now, it's hard to imagine similar vehicles would make up 30 percent of a fleet in six years, let alone 80 percent... To be eligible for the credits, a truck manufacturer must use the technology on a minimum percentage of its full-size pickup production — 30 percent in 2017 and rising to at least 80 percent in 2021 for what the EPA calls "a mild HEV pickup truck. Under the proposal, manufacturers could get per-vehicle credits toward their corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) if they use "significant quantities" of hybrid technology on full-size pickups, starting in 2017. The federal government wants pickup truck manufacturers to introduce “game changing” technologies that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including hybrid technology, according to a proposal from the EPA.
How to clean and lube slip yoke on 99 GMC Sierra 1500 truck?
I need to know how to clean and lubricate the slip yoke on my 99 GMC Sierra 1500 truck. I am a repair novice, but I am wondering if I can do this on my own. I know the lubriant I need (GM Special Lubriant #12345879), but I do not know how to clean and lubricate the slip yoke. If someone would be so kind as to walk me through the process step-by-step (perhaps with service manual?), I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. (asked by teresa on August 24, 2007)
A: just sand it down with any sandpaper and then use any grease or oil to lube it. Like the other guy said if not rusted no need to clean it. You dont need a special lube they just do that to make money. Just like on lawnmowers they say use expensive oil all you have to use is regular SAE 30 (answered by chingchong on August 24, 2007)

I have a 95' Sierra stepside SLE with a 5.7 litre V8. The lower panels arond the outside of the truck are chrome and above it is chrome trim. I need to replace the trim and the GMC logo that was originally there but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Any suggestions? (asked by grant on January 19, 2008)
