How to clean and lube slip yoke on 99 GMC Sierra 1500 truck?
I need to know how to clean and lubricate the slip yoke on my 99 GMC Sierra 1500 truck. I am a repair novice, but I am wondering if I can do this on my own. I know the lubriant I need (GM Special Lubriant #12345879), but I do not know how to clean and lubricate the slip yoke. If someone would be so kind as to walk me through the process step-by-step (perhaps with service manual?), I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. (asked by teresa on August 24, 2007)
A: just sand it down with any sandpaper and then use any grease or oil to lube it. Like the other guy said if not rusted no need to clean it. You dont need a special lube they just do that to make money. Just like on lawnmowers they say use expensive oil all you have to use is regular SAE 30 (answered by chingchong on August 24, 2007)

What causes my 92 GMC 1500 truck to bog down while driving. Shake and cut off while I am at a stop light.?
The truck will run smooth after I hit a bump in the road. I got new fuel injectors and a new computer installed. This problem happens once in a while even on the expressway I will lose power. (asked by Preacher on April 20, 2009)
A: I would start with fuel pressure. A pump could be intermittent as well as the pressure check valve bypassing occasionally. This is a tough one as it only happens infrequently. The bump casing the situation lends me to think it is mechanical in nature and related to fuel, IE pump or pressure regulation.
This sounds like fuel/air mixture or timing. But the timing and air would not come and go. (answered by Travis H on April 20, 2009)
A: Do you have oil in the truck? that could be it, Could be old and need a new truck (It is 18 years old).
