A: According to an old Mitchell Collision Estimating Guide an '86 grille would NOT fit a '79.

A: I believe it will, I changed my 76 chevy with a newer one and the screw holes were the same.

A: there are several screws and some push clips. you will have to remove the inner door handle and lock actuater as well. after you get it off don't despair when you find anothe panel made from metal behind that one. all the mechanisms attach to it. unless you are extremely mechanically proficent you should not attempt this job. If you bend a relay rod or the window regulator arms, they won't straighten out to work right (answered by rwlane55 on February 05, 8039)
