Snowy weather parking garage issues resolved

”The city has tried to be responsive about the fifth floor and has let my employees know to park on the 4th floor during inclement weather. Two significant snow accumulations after after Christmas left the fifth floor, which is uncovered and maintained by the city, slick and snowy, according to some who lease spaces from the city at $35 a month. The city owns half the spaces on the fourth floor and the county the other half. Therefore, my employees park on the 4th floor per the city’s instruction, but then receive warning tickets from the county. A couple of those people work in the county treasurer’s office, raising the concern of Treasurer Nancy Nix, who informed county and city officials. The city and the county have been in negotiations for months concerning the upkeep of the four-story, 600-space garage connected to the Government Services Center. “Whenever there is snow, the fifth floor is not well-plowed, and in the ensuing days the lot becomes icy and dangerous,” Nix wrote...

Crisis potentially averted after Delray offers solution to space struggle ...

Howard Kanner, one of two senior partners of Kanner & Pintaluga, said he was open to the idea of building on that space, if the CRA opened the property up to bids by potential buyers. Both factions wanted to buy the same space, 10,000 square feet on the ground floor of a city-owned garage on Second Avenue. ” He explained that the CRA had been unwelcoming when approached by the law firm to buy the five acres near NW Eighth Avenue. Calling the uproar over the two buyers “a manufactured crisis,” Carney added, “The crisis seems to be the fault of the CRA. But in a dramatic announcement tonight, Mayor Thomas Carney suggested that the commission and the two groups could work with the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency to make available five acres on west Atlantic Avenue. The stage was set for a Solomonic decision: Either keep a popular performance arts venue in the Pineapple Grove neighborhood or replace it with a law firm that would bring 100 more employees into the downtown area.

What prep do I need to do for garage floor epoxy?

The previous owners of my house laid tiles over the concrete floor in the garage (i don't think they parked their car in it). These are old tiles with a thin adhesive - not like the white caustic adhesive you'd use with (asked by Jared M on April 27, 2009)
