A: I drive an 01' Prelude and can tell you for sure that this car has alot to offer. It is a wonderful handling car, despite being a bit heavier than a Civic or Integra. The fifth generation Prelude was produced from 1997 till 2001 so aside from a very slight bump in horsepower in the 1999-2001 cars (only five horses) a 97 would be pretty much the same car as my 01, just a bit older. I have 105,000 miles on the odometer and it's as strong as it was when I bought it. Aftermarket support is also very nice. there is a host of parts available for the fifth generation Prelude, alot of which is certainly on my wish list! Try these sites for more info...

A: Hondas are known for lasting a very long time. Hondas are very good cars. But do your homework before buying, the previous owner may know of problems the car might have and not tell you. Thats what you need to be looking out for. (answered by A on May 12, 2007)

A: It's condition, age, and mileage are most important. But yes, any Honda is a good first car. Or second, or third... etc. (answered by J K on September 10, 2007)
A: I dated a girl years ago that had a Prelude for her first car. Yes, the are good cars- extremely reliable if well maintained. However, as long as you're responsible enough not to race it, I would recommend it as a first car. Insurance could be a bit high depending on the model. (answered by Terrence B on September 10, 2007)

A: 5TH generation (BB6 Chassis code)
were all VTEC Base and SH model for the US Market.
Both had the H22A4 DOHC VTEC motor.
Base was the Automatic (autostick) version
SH was the manual Version. (SH super handling)
SH had ATTS as well Active Torque Transfer System, which is better.
i would recommend the SH model because i owned the base and the autostick sucks. (answered by Jeff on February 22, 2009)
