Biker Column: Re-defining 'imported'

All bikes in this country are imported, I replied. Recently I was taking pictures of a test bike in a public car park when I was approached by a group of teenage boys who seemed as fascinated by this big, powerful machine as I would have been at their age. They knew that, they said, but was it imported. Then two of them asked almost in unison: "Is it imported. They showed little or no interest in performance figures, especially after the tallest leaned over the instruments to check the highest number on the speedometer dial, only to find that the liquid crystal display was blank when the bike was... " To the wired generation, nobody in their right mind would take carefully-posed photographs of a motor vehicle other than for advertising purposes. Yet their first question wasn't, as mine would have been, "How fast does it go. " but instead, "How much are you selling it for.

A: You would have to really modify the front just to do. (answered by chris2EM on February 16, 2008)

Q:

1987 Honda Prelude, my headlights are stuck in the up position, any ideas ?

They open automatically when I manually wind them down but won't go down. I replaced motors and fuses and relays look fine. Any help would be appreciated.

A: I don't have anything that goes back that far but if its like the sunroofs on hondas (and I think the headlamp motors are) there should be two relays. One is an "open" relay and the other is a "close" relay. The probability is that the close relay has failed.

most honda relays are interchangeable. You should swap relays and see if the headlights then close but not open. I'm pretty sure you'll find the relay bad

hope that helps (answered by honda guy on February 11, 910)

A: This baby is 21 years old. They are prolly rusted to there. (answered by pattissnaps on February 11, 3831)

Q:

could i swap 1996 nissan 300z headlights to a 1988 honda prelude?

i know they will for slide right in but if i could get them to fit would the wiring fit up right?
or is there a way to limit how much it moves up when i turn them on?
(asked by Cody L on May 25, 2009)

A: i think they would slightly be bigger than the original headlight's for the prelude,

i would say dont do this,

someone else tried to do this swap to a nissan 240sx and it looked poorly to put it nice.
