The police report states that Tanner argued with someone and talked of ending her life before wrecking her red 2008 H3 with "5POILED" vanity license plates. While Tanner has yet to respond, rescuers can legally sue for damages if the victim they save was reckless or negligent. Kelley, who has no medical insurance, says he only decided to sue after hearing from a friend that Tanner's wreck might have been a suicide attempt. And Kelley maintains that were he ever faced with the same situation, he'd jump in to save someone's life again &mdash. Both filed suit in an Ohio county court asking for at least $25,000 in damages from Tanner. Kincaid's story might be different if he could tell it, but since he's facing felony charges for a separate incident, he declined to speak to the newspaper.

A: I used to have GMC Jimmy SLS then I switched to Toyota FJ Cruiser in November of 2007. Then being unsatisfied with its drivability and user-freindliness (it has only 2 doors and limited access to cargo...though it has big cargo room doors to get in portrudes to exterior so you have difficult time fitting anything in there), I switched to H3 in April of 2008 AND LOVING IT!.
I did a lot of research and didn't notice any safety issue (I went through the consumer report and Motortrend for review). There was a recall for the electronic valve control or something but that was taken care of during my engine oil change by the dealer. I noticed that it burns slightly less gas than Toyota FJ too (but comparison to other cars, still it is considered gas guzzler).
There was no safety recall after 2006 side airbag issue...but mine is 2007 demo so didn't matter. I suggest 2008 model. It has more power and better fuel mileage even though it has a slightly bigger engine.
If you are trying to save gas, but want a SUV, I suggest Saab 9-7 or Acura RDX for about the same price ranged but smaller SUV. (answered by Jonathan Jeon on July 03, 2008)

A: For an electric winch I would recommend Warn or Superwinch. For a hydraulic unit go with Mile Marker.
Each has a benefit. The electric winches are great if you plan on using a receiver-type mount that you can easily remove from the vehicle when not needed (also nice because you can mount it in the rear receiver to pull yourself backward). Another benefit is that you can run the winch for a short period of time without the vehicle running.
Some negatives are that electrics heat up over heavy use. They are very hard on batteries and alternators with extreme use.
The hydraulic winches use the power steering pump to run, so your engine MUST be running for it to work. The hydraulics have a 100% duty cycle, so they never overheat and you can continuously run it. Most have 2 speeds for slow or higher line speed.
I've had both, each has its perks. For the occasional use, or for styling purposes, I recommend the electric because of ease of install. If you plan on actually trying to wear this thing out, then get the hydraulic. (answered by boogie_4wheel on February 05, 4897)
