RAC head of member advocacy Matt Brown said the ratings highlighted how dangerous some older cars could be. "Used cars can be safe and you don't have to pay a lot of money to get a safe one, you just need to know what you're looking for," Mr Brown... Motorists could be putting themselves at risk when they buy a used car, according to the RAC's latest used car safety ratings. Two makes - the Mitsubishi Lancer/Mirage CE 1996-2003 and the Hyundai Accent 2000-2006 - recorded only one star. He said consumers should look for basic safety features - including airbags, ESC (electronic stability control) and ABS (anti-skid braking system) - when buying a car.
What does a basic rim for a 2004 Hyundai Accent cost?

A: I can't help with price for a brand new one, but to save yourself some cash call some of the local wrecking yards. You could certainly find one there I'm sure. (answered by jasonm512 on May 07, 2006)
A: Those cars are so cheap I am surprised they put price tags on them. Honey, I am sure that you could probably find one in a junkyard if you need one real cheap. Otherwise, from the dealer, hold onto your pursestrings. (answered by freak4f1 on May 07, 2006)

My car's engine light came on. I took it to an auto parts store got a code of 2096 parts person said this was a dealer code and he didnt know what it was. I have a 2004 Hyundai Accent
4 door automatic trans with 59,000 miles. Does any one know of this code. Is it a DIY fix. Please help. Thanks (asked by '04accentowner on October 10, 2007)
A: That code doesn't make sense. Go back and have it scanned again. It should look something like P0300 or P1345. (answered by Lab on October 10, 2007)

How much money should I expect to pay for new brake pads for a Hyundai Accent 2004 model?
I'm trying to figure out a good price and avoid being over-billed for a standard procedure. my repairer has asked me to buy front brake pad set ($62) and discs ($262) with labour cost of $88 (asked by jk on April 21, 2009)
A: $262 for discs... do you mean rotors? I just rebuilt the rear brakes on my Tiburon, new rotors and brake pads ... cost for all parts $140 and did the work myself... so that makes their labor over $260. This job is way over priced. (you can be assured the rotors are to thin to be turned, so turning them will not be an option) (answered by LT on February 11, 4925)
