I did go to Pitchfork this year to see The John Spencer Blues Explosion. Me and my main man Dirty Bogus MC the Third went to see Pavement because they had them opening for Sinead O'Conner. Pavement destroyed Lollapalooza that day. It's the car nobody cares about unveiled at a music festival not relevant since 1995. Some kid in a "Panda Bear" t-shirt sitting next to me called them the "John Spencer Shitty Nostalgia Experience. Yeah, I went to Lollapalooza. Real music. Back in 1995.

How much is the typical cost for replacing both front wheel bearings for a Hyundai Accent 95?

I was just given an estimate of $320 to change both of my front wheel bearings. This includes parts and labor. Is that a fair price? Also, the mechanic said that I should change both of them although only the driver's side is the problem. Is that normal, as in as a preventative measure or is he being a dishonest mechanic? I would really appreciate anwers from actual mechanics. Thanks

A: Possibly a little bit high, but it's in the ballpark. Find out if the bearings need to be preloaded before you get it done. If they do, make sure the mechanic does that or you will be replacing the wheel bearings again in about a year. (answered by kfxcanada on February 11, 5023)

A: no i don't think that's dishonest, i would give the customer that option as well because labor is slightly less to do both at once rather than do the other side in the future. and i do think that's a good price for parts and labor for both sides because it takes a fair amount of time to press out and press in new bearings. Where can I get a dipstick online for a 95 Hyundai Accent?

I have the typical 1.5L SOHC engine that all the Accents of this year have. The kid I bought the car from was a cheap-ass and stuck a screw where the dipstick supposed to go for the engine oil. I need a new one.
So, I was wondering where to get one online. I can't seem to find it.

A: Any autoparts store should carry a similar one to fit your vehicle, or try car-part.com for a list of "junk yards". Also a dealer will prob. have one and it should'nt be too much, and you can always just say no. (answered by Tony on October 19, 2009)
