Dynamic little fuel miser likely to be a hit

He slow, official rollout of the 2011 Mazda2 will finally begin in earnest next month.

In early December at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Mazda will begin parcelling out certain details about the North American version of the Mazda2. We'll get the full nuts and bolts story on content, pricing and on-sale timing later next year, closer to the official launch date.

That's likely to be in the fall of 2010, though rumours have begun to circulate that the car will not actually hit dealerships until close to the end of 2010.

Mazda Canada, naturally, would like this front-wheel-drive car right now – and so would many Canadian consumers. Mazda's upcoming five-door hatchback, a car smaller than the Mazda3, is aimed at the Honda Fit, Hyundai Accent, Toyota Yaris, Chevrolet Aveo, Kia Rio and Nissan Versa. Subcompacts such as these account for about one-quarter of all new-car sales in Canada.

Q:

1997 Hyundai Accent Random Headlight Outages?

1997 Hyundai Accent is acting funny in the headlight department. At first my day-time running lights didn't work and low, high, and flashers were fine. Now, day-time running lights work, high beams work, and flashers work, but the low beams alternate every day or so between working, left side not working, and right side not working.

I've checked the fuses, checked the bulbs, and checked the sockets for the bulbs. All are fine. What could be causing this? (Have yet to check relays.)
(asked by Sean on June 26, 2009)

A: There is only the wiring and the relays left to check. (answered by Timbo is here on June 26, 2009)

Q:

I have a 2002 Hyundai Accent- how do you change the headlight?

It's the left headlight so the battery is right there, and I'm hoping I don't have to remove that. I've looked at the manual and I can't figure out the first thing to do. The black plastic thing that the wires go into doesn't just pull out and there's no obvious latch.
(asked by Eyago on December 09, 2006)

A: Well there's either screws holding it in from the front or back (look for them since they should be fairly obvious). The plug in the back of the headlight should twist or have a clip that needs to be pushed in before it'll twist or pull out (answered by braunicus on December 10, 2006)

Q:

Where can I get a replacement headlight bulb retainer clip for a 2001 Hyundai Accent?

I snapped the one I had in half and the bulb will not stay in place. I don't want to hit a bump and blow the bulb. Where can I get a new one or do you know something else I can do?
Thanks.
(asked by Charles on July 06, 2009)

A: Local hyundai dealer,I have temporarily used paper clips. (answered by Herbert J on July 06, 2009)
