An Interview With Mr. Markets About The Past Week's Turbulence
Articles
August 10, 2011
Below is the transcript of an exclusive Unconventional Logic (UL) interview with the elusive Mr. World Financial Markets (WFM) himself. Rather than speculate on what is going on in the world financial markets, we thought that we would go right to the source. I started writing about economics because I hate the way that our dysfunctional economy is crushing the dreams of so many people. This chapter of my life is about trying to help people make their dreams come true. The terrifying stock market gyrations of the past week have sent analysts scrambling to try to explain what it all means. Young people are delaying getting married and having children because of unstable jobs and incomes. It doesn't have to be this way, and I want to contribute to solving the problem.
I found a 2001 Hyundai Elantra hatchback for sale for $6,000. It looks like it's in good condition. However, what are some stats for it? Is it reliable? Does it get good gas mileage? (asked by W on February 11, 3302)
A: Well.... My Elantra outlasted my friend's Civic and his brother's Camry had transmission problems the first day he got it so yes it's possible to outlast Honda's and Toyota's regardless how much people hype them up. Funny how my 7 yr old Elantra hasn't "fell apart" yet after 135,000 miles. Little thing called routine maintenance goes along way.
$6000 sounds a bit much but how many miles does it have? Sounds like it has low miles. Small cars are in demand now because of high gas prices and Hyundai resell values are getting better so this price isn't far off.
My 01 Elantra gets about 33-36 mpg highway depending on how fast I'm going.
The Elantra is Edmund's best used car pick for 5 yrs so I would say it would be a decent used car. http://www.edmunds.com/reviews/bestbet/a rticles/index.html (answered by cjgt2 on February 11, 4756)
A: Hyundais are horrible cars. My brother-in-law bought one new and it fell apart in less than 4 years. (answered by AC on February 11, 3486)
Q:
Where would the cruise control be located on a 2001 Hyundai Elantra GLS?
Just recently purchased a 2001Hyundai Elantra and was curious if anyone could answer the question of how can I know if it has cruise control. It didn't come with a manual. (asked by M P on May 18, 2008)
A: cruise control on that model should be on the right side of the steering, just forward of the windshield wiper functiom. The lever ought to a little lower than it and just behind the steering wheel. (answered by gooseman0812 on May 18, 2008)
A: Planning to steal one, I see? Good luck. (answered by Rev. Al Po on May 18, 2008)
Q:
What would be a good system for my 2001 Hyundai Elantra GLS?
I want to replace my system in my 2001 Hyundai Elantra GLS and I don't want to spend to much money but i want all new speakers and a new head unit. Can anyone give me some help please? (asked by FALLON on December 16, 2007)
A: Find out what size your factory speakers are. Then shop for a good head unit. Buy the unit first, because you could end up with ohmage problems by buying the speakers first. A decent 45w x4 head unit will do wonders to improve the sound in your car. 4 new speakers will make it scream and a solid amp/sub combo will set it off. You don't need much more than a 250 watt amp to really make the bass puond. JL Audio has a 250/1 mono amp and a 10 inch sub will really sound clean in a trunk. If you're not ready for the sub, make sure the speakers inside the car have an RMS rating of more than the output of the deck. After that, its all what looks good and sounds good to you. Have fun!!
