Honda Civic again gets poor rating from Consumer Reports
Articles
February 11, 8208
The 2012 Honda Civic , redesigned for it ninth edition, has drawn extensive criticism from Consumer Reports, the independent review publication that as recently as 2007 gave the perennially top-ranked small sedan its top score. The 2012 Honda Civic’s score was the second-lowest among a test of 12 small sedans, with redesigned Volkswagen Jetta scoring lower. Consumer Reports also didn’t list the Honda Civic among its recommended vehicles last year, but its score wasn’t as low.
Does anyone know if a 2007 Hyundai Elantra is a reliable car?
Can anyone give me some insight on a 2007 Elantra? I want to know if it is reliable, if it gets good gas mileage,
or anything that is helpful !!!! THANKS!!!! (asked by Shawn 7 on June 10, 2008)
A: The first guy (buttersg...)is a pure example of the type of disinformation you will find. The Elantra was just named top pick in it's class BY Consumer Reports. Rated I believe above avg for reliability. It wouldn't be named top pick by them if it was below avg. Again, someone who never owned a Hyundai (3 Toyota's) regurgitating something from the 90's.
The Elantra isn't best in class for gas mileage but is still very good (32-33 mpg highway). The big advantages are comfort and safety. The EPA has classified the interior as mid-sized and it has safety systems available like Traction Control and Electronic Stability Control which aren't offered on most cars in it's class. It's wasn't named top pick by CR for nothing (answered by cjgt2 on June 11, 2008)
A: hyundai reliability is not good/averge. Toyota have the best reliability cars on the road tested by consumer reports. go with the new 09 camry very sexy and big for only $20,000 (answered by buttersgonewild on June 10, 2008)
Q:
What are your thoughts on a 2007 Hyundai Elantra Limited?
I am looking to buy a new car. Comparing the Elantra to the Civic, Sentra, Corolla and others, I am finding that the Elantra gives you the most for your money and has great warranty. What do you guys think about Hyundai? (asked by nrein930 on August 29, 2007)
A: First off, I am the owner of an 07 Elantra GLS, one step "down" from the Limited, but I have most of the same options because the dealer installs them based on customer preference. We traded in our 02 Elantra GLS for it. Our car is a gem. It's nicer on the outside, and the inside is much, much better than our old one.
Reliability? Our '02 never gave us a problem except once, and it was completely covered under the warranty. We traded it in with 92,0000 miles on it.
Hyundai "haters" are ignorant, and they must enjoy throwing their money away. Hyundai builds good cars for much cheaper than Honda and Toyota but stay out of the limelight. The Elantra is a bigger car than the Civic AND the Corolla. I have two growing children and they have plenty of room in the back.
We bought our car brand new, put 2K down and financed 11,300, which means that my brand new car I bought for about $600 more than my 02. Try getting a Civic with all those options for anywhere near that price.
You'd do well to buy a Hyundai. (answered by vamedic4 on August 30, 2007)
A: hyundais are cheap for a reason, cos they drop in value so quickly.
dont bother and just pay a bit extra for something that will last and you dont lose much money when you decide to sell. (answered by **Teaser** on August 29, 2007)
Q:
does plugging a vepc into the iat sensor into a 2007 hyundai elantra actually give you horsepower.how much?
if i install the vepc into the iat sensor in my 2007 elantra how much horsepower can i gain and what gas milage should i expect.thanks to whoever replies (asked by e.sloan78 on June 16, 2008)
A: The Elantra has 138 hp from the factory. You should expect to see 142 hp and 2-4 miles per gallon.
You'll have better luck adding a free-flowing intake and exhaust but every system you alter, voids the warranty of the components that are altered and those that are adversely affected by the alteration - no exceptions from Hyundai. Failure of such components is not considered manufacturer's defect. (answered by Ginger on June 17, 2008)
