Q:
A: I guess you could do it, you may need to exchange the transmission too though. At any rate, its not worth the effort as theirs not much upgrade from the Accent to Elantra engine. You are better off buying a better car instead of wasting alot of money on swapping engines and performance parts on a bargain bin commuter. If you need more details, call a mechanic and see what he thinks and how much it would cost. Dude, just buy a Mazdaspeed 3 263HP 2 litter turbo for about $23K new, can't beat it. Q:
A: I have had one for 6yrs now and the only problem I have had twice now is the timing belt which is expensive and not just anyone can do it. Its a well known issue with the 4cyl engines if you have a 6 dont worry they are chain. If its the 4 though I would run to a garage and have it done. Replaced motor at 80,000 because it wasn't done and broke down once and had to have it done again with this motor. Its a well know issue, just google it and you will see.
