Q:
A: OEM? You have to remove the plastic covers from each rail (the back ones). Be very carefully, the clips holding the covers are braking easy. Usually, the roof rack kit comes with new clips for the cover (double check with dealer on this). Once covers removed, all u have to do is to forward slide the racks into the side rails. The rail have locking points spread apart for the rack to secure in place. Make sure u choose the desired distance and lock the rails in place.
Hope this will help you. There is no better answer than this. (answered by Hyundai Guru on August 14, 2009)
Q:
A: Alot of Honda fanboys answered your question and of course they picked Honda without providing balance.
The truth is that both are good picks but the best depends on what you're looking for. The CR-V is a smaller SUV, has a much less powerful engine (166 max HP to 242 max HP) and doesn't have an available 3rd row sit comparing it to the Santa Fe which is considered mid-sized SUV. Plus the SF has options not available on the CR-V like :
Rear Seat HVAC Controls
Universal Garage Door Opener
DVD Player
Second Row Sound Controls
Automatic Headlights
etc.
Someone mentioned the Honda was safer the Hyundai, not true. In fact both received top honers for safety by the IIHS http://www.iihs.org/ratings/default.aspx
and both received 5 stars from NHTSA

So BOTH are safe to operate.
As far is quality is concerned the Santa Fe did earn a Top Pick by Consumer Reports in 2008:
"Midsized SUV Hyundai Santa Fe
Redesigned for 2007, the much-improved Santa Fe edged out the Honda Pilot in our tests". http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/cars/ new-cars/news/2007/04/top-picks-for-2007 -4-07/overview/0704_top-picks-2007.htm#H yundaiSantaFe
Hyundai nowadays are very near the quality of Japanese auto's. Again, just bring a little balance to your question.
If you don't need the extra power or room the CR-V is a good pick. It will save more on gas as well; being smaller. The SF is a good pick if you need a mid-sized SUV with more power.
That's what it really comes down to. (answered by cjgt2 on June 11, 2009)
Q:
A: only YOU can awswer this one, since they are both good vehicles...Toyota has a looong history of making well made, reliable cars. Hyundai is getting there. In my personal opinion, i would choose the RAV4. It's a good vehicle and it just LOOKS better! (sorry....from a girls perspective!!) hee hee (answered by Patrice Michelle on March 17, 2009)
