You Ask We Answer

Q:

Does the iPod cable come included with the purchase of a new Hyundai Sonata 2009 Limited edition car?

Just bought my car yesterday and am not sure if the cable is suppose to come with the car. I thought I read somewhere it does. I bought one from Hyundai for my old Sonata but want another one for the new Sonata.
(asked by saberahul on July 15, 2009)

A: Nope, you have to buy it from the dealer. Mine was $29.95 (answered by DKW on July 16, 2009)

A: No, its an accessory. (answered by street_king on July 16, 2009)

Q:

what is up with the gas mileage of my 2009 Hyundai Sonata GLS?

It is a V6 engine 3.3 liter engine. I am getting around 16 miles to the gallen. That is absurd. It only has 15,000 miles on it.

I am soooo dissappointed that I bought this car. It guzzles way too much gas. Anybody out there familiar with the Sonata V6 and whether this is just my car, or all 2009 Hyunday Sonata's

Anybody know?
(asked by carmen on August 12, 2009)

A: Does your car have a trip computer that is calculating the mileage? I drive 100% in town in my Hyundai Azera Limited and get 18 mpg, I only drive 12 miles a day so that is fine, plus on long trips I get 25-27 mpg. You don't tell us how you drive or where you drive, so we can't say if your mpg is absurd. However, I would expect you to get 19 mpg (EPA estimate for city) if you drive 100% city like I do.
Is the gas mileage the only thing you are disappointed about with your Sonata? How many miles are you driving per week? Heck I only use about 1 tank of gas every 3-4 weeks in my Azera.
Post your complaint here, http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/sbs.htm You'll see that other owners of your model average 26mpg, though mostly driving highway. (answered by aj20031018 on August 12, 2009)

A: Should be getting about 23 MPG....maybe there's something wrong with the catalytic converter or possibly the ignitor but that's unlikely. Is the check engine light on? (answered by William c on August 12, 2009)

Q:

How smooth does the Hyundai Sonata 2009 GLS V4 drive?

is it noisy?
does it drive well compared to its V6 counterpart?
is the car reliable? i.e. will it go up t 200k miles?
(asked by awake on February 11, 3474)

A: Not noisy at all, lots of sound deafening materials and it drives smooth as silk. The I4 (no V4) has plenty of power and will last just as long as the V6. Yes, both motors will go to 200K or more with proper care as listed in the owners manual. Now, if you plan to carry multiple passengers and luggage you may want to opt for the V6, but with 175 HP and 168 TQ the Sonata I4 has more power then most V6's from the late 90's and gets 3 mpg better then the V6.
