Hyundai, whose Tiburon coupe filled that role until it was discontinued in 2008, will position the new Veloster coupe as the Gen Y personality car when it goes on sale next month. At the car's official unveiling in Detroit early this year, the company made the point about the vehicle as a protean vehicle for younger multitaskers by bringing up to the stage a trio of Gen Y employees of the company and its agencies. Actually, the car is only half a coupe, as it has three doors rather than just two and an unusual interior capacity for vehicles usually associated with the two-door world. The company is most certainly positioning it as a versatile, personalizable and connected "smart" car with technology like location sharing and voice texting. Nowadays, for automakers to have the certain youthful je ne sais quoi they have to have a car that can legitimately show up at hipster parties, even if younger buyers aren't actually the ones who end up buying them.
What mufflers should I get for my 08 Hyundai Tiburon GT V6?
So I've been doing exterior mods on my tiburon. Now I just want a nice deep throaty sound for it. Stock sounds nice and it has a deep growl to it but I want a much louder roar while still sounding great. What company would you say I should go for. I've been thinking flowmaster 44 series or maybe magnaflow? How about any others? (asked by Eric on October 06, 2009)
A: Tanabe makes racing mufflers, they're quite expensive but they sound AMAZING. Look them up on YouTube if you want to hear them.
Megan racing is another great sounding muffler company.
Flowmaster 44s sound good, but im not sure if i'd put those on my import because they're usually on muscle cars. But. it's your choice, if you like the way they sound then buy them.
Whatever you do, DONT BUY CHEAP mufflers. The welding is usually crappy and they could break, then they'll be extremely loud and sound horrible.

Lookin to twin turb my new Tib GT but can't really find one that will work. Anybody got an idea of a twin turbo that would work? And if you could, give me a quick estimate of the cost to have this thing bought and installed at a performance shop? (asked by Eric on June 18, 2009)
A: I know this is not the answer you are wanting, but just the amount of money it will take to upgrade the engine so everything doesn't melt or exploded is insane, I can see just one turbo being fine, but not two, your beautiful car will not make it past 30K and that is being generous. Your best bet is to Supercharge it, it is much cheaper to install, and puts less stress on the engine. Check out some of the youtube videos on supercharged Tiburons

A: Wow, Twin turbo...
i dont think i've heard of anyone putting twin turbos in their Tiburon, but im sure it can be done by a performance shop.
And, the supporting modifications for a single turbo cost a lot of money so the supporting modifications for a twin will also cost somewhere around an extra $1,600-$2,000.( intake, headers, exhaust, Intake manifold, throttle body). You can find these items at:

They sell Superchargers for the Tiburon, and Single Turbos for 4 cylinder Tiburons i believe.
All of the supporting Mods, and Twin Turbo set-up will cost anywhere from $4,000 to $5,000 + installation and Labor. It would make a Monster Tiburon, but it's not very practical and this set-up would be very hard to maintain.(highest octane gas, 93 or higher). (answered by iceman_092 on June 18, 2009)
