Q:

Why does my 1995 Isuzu Rodeo have a ticking sound in the engine?

I have a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo, V6 automatic transmission, 3.2L 2WD.

It will tick for long periods of time and then go away for about 20 to 30 minutes then start up again.

I have changed the oil and the fluids are tapped off.
(asked by Rod E on March 12, 2008)

A: lifters maybe, but a good oil additive can fix that. the 3.2 rodeo and the 3.5 trooper have 2 very common and bad problems with them. both create the noise that you think or discribe as a ticking. it is known to most mechanics to be a very occuring theme with the rodeo and trooper. the timing belt tensioner makes the same noise you speak of, and most of the time under 2500 rpm. and the next thing is that they have a very bad rod to stroke ratio. in a very low amount of miles develope a piston slap (ticking noise) which is where the piston skirts starts to get lose from side load at the bottom of the stroke, and slaps up against the cylinder wall. sorry to be so blunt but the rodeo and trooper motors are junk. i have accually started to refuse to work on them because they are such a POS. Q:

How do you remove the radiator from 1995 Isuzu Rodeo?

I have a 1995 Isuzu rodeo that has some front end damage. To repair the damage I need to remove the radiator. I have disconnected the hoses, fan shroud and top support, but it still seems to be connected to something at the bottom. What should I look for and where should I look to disconnect whatever is still holding the radiator in place.
(asked by Simon on July 10, 2009)

A: go to your auto store, or go to www.alldatadiy.com BUY a service manual, you'll thank yourself later (answered by on July 10, 2009)

Q:

Would it be practical to put a Short Shifter into a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo?

When I think of Short Shifters, I think of cars. Makes it easier to shift. Shorter throw, less likely to miss shift and a great feel. But would it be practical to put one into a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo? Is it even possible? I'm clueless in these types of things. I suck at being a Car person.
(asked by ninja_mikie on February 10, 1330)

A: Short shifteds were invented for racing. Quicker shifting. But some cars cannot handle the quick shifting.
Short shifters are not meant for SUV's (answered by C7S on February 10, 2634)
