A: Yes it's the same truck. Just make sure you buy one for the same size engine and whether it's for a 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive truck. Chevy GMC, and Isuzu Hombre are the same but have different styling. Call some auto recyclers "junk yards" and price a used trans ($150-$800)and ask if they install and how much. There's always deals to be found if you look hard enough. I had a older Chevy Blazer 4X4 done for $750 but the first used trans was no good and they replaced it under the 30 day warranty. The GMC Safari - Chevy Astro vans use the same engine and transmission if your buying one out of the classifieds ($100-$400 no warranty) . (answered by Scraped Knuckles on January 17, 2009)
A: Probably not...the bell housing and bolt patterns are probably different. You're looking at the difference between a 4-cylinder and an 8?-cylinder. Also, if the transmission is off of a four-cylinder S-10, then it probably won't last long under the torque and strain a V8 would put on the gears and drive shaft.Q:

almost all of the chevy s10 parts will fit the isuzu hombre.
you must know this tho.........if you go to your chevy dealer and buy a part and put it on your isuzu, there is no over-the-counter parts warranty for the part you buy. Reason being that GM cant warranty a part put on a non GM vehicle. (answered by Leonard A on September 26, 2009)
