Q:

has anyone heard of an isuzu impulse?

how do you like them?
are they fast?
hows the handling?
would a 91 impulse without turbo beat an 88 mazda mx6 with turbo?
(asked by Kenneth H on February 11, 9115)

A: I owned one for 5 years,
Heres how it goes.
it is NOT RWD like someone suggested.
the FWD non turnbo 1.6L does pretty fucking well.
Mine kept up with a ferrari doing 180kms, and when the ferrari took off ahead of us, we caught up to him in no time.
They handle amazing. I could take corners no problems.
They're beautiful cars, and since many people never see them, people are usually intruigued when you pull next to them.
finding a RS(turbo) is difficult, and if you find one, good luck with it being in good condition.
the XS is the non turbo. (answered by Kerri C on May 02, 2008)

A: I like the RWD ones and the AWD ones because they're cool. Some of them are fast, mainly the turbo AWD models. The suspensions were done by Lotus, so I'd imagine they corner pretty well.

Probably not. (answered by Biff on February 11, 9644)

Q:

What years were the Isuzu Impulse TT Editions?

What years were the Twin Turbo Editions for the Isuzu Impulse? If I am correct, they were also Lotus inspired handling. I believe it was 86-89 I think but not sure. And are there any leads as to where i can find these cars that are for sale?
(asked by KKid on February 11, 9436)

A: yes your right they were build 86-89 i had the 89 one and the car looked so good but it had way to many problems so i put it on for sale like three years ago one of the best looking cars around the twin turbo really made the car move. i had the black one and the interior looked so nice on that car but it had way to much mechanical problems. Lucky for me my brother in law is a mechanic so he fixed it for me for a really low price. OH YA AND ALSO THE PARTS FOR THAT CAR IS REALLY RARE ONCE I ORDERED THE PART FROM TOKYO JAPAN SO YA good luck!! (answered by shantkar95 on February 11, 6852)

Q:

How would I know if my turbo is working or not??

I got a 88 isuzu impulse a month ago.At first it was nice and got "some power". But aftyer my brother floored the pedal shifting at 5-6000 rpm, it just kind of pull back. 1st gear goes up to 3-4000 rpm only doing like 5 mph. I checked the air filter and it is very brittle and crispy. I am having a hard time looking for parts so i can't replace the air filter yet. by the way i think the car also had been sitting for a while. I just change my oil and when i checked it was black already. help please!!!
(asked by ray on November 26, 2006)

A: You might want to clean out that turbo with some carb cleaner. You probably have some real nasty exhaust build up in there. Replace the air filter, and clean out the throttle body with some carb cleaner as well. You probably have a real dirty intake system which is restricting the air going into the engine. If this doesn't fix your problem, check for air leaks along the intercooler. This can really rob you of power. (answered by Al B. on November 26, 2006)
