A: Check all the fuses in the panel.it has a fuse for the so called 4wd button.there is also a vacuum operated switch on the front differential,take it off and put 12 volts to it to see if it does anything,im having the same problem with my blazer,process of elimination,if your somewhat mechanically inclined,prolong taking it to the dealer unless you want to pay $75 to $90 an hour plus parts. A: i have had this problem myself. although mine was older (96) most are vacume activated. check the vacume lines. sometimes they get cracks in them and they dont get enough vacume to actuate. especially if it is not used regularly. if this is the problem simply replace. if not you might want to have your lockers checked out.
