Los Campesinos! still has its UK college-rock charm - Straight.com February 09, 2012
By Mike Usinger, February 2, 2012 Even though he's not spending weekends driving a Jaguar XJ-S to his mansion in the Welsh countryside, Neil Turner doesn't come across as a man with many major regrets. Reached at a Bloomington, Indiana, tour stop,
Classic Concepts: 1978 Jaguar XJ Spider by Pininfarina - Classic Driver February 09, 2012
In hindsight, creating a replacement for what has since become one of the world's most iconic cars was never going to be an easy job for Jaguar. The car unenviably tasked with following in the E-type's footsteps was the XJ-S, which made its debut in
The secrets behind Jaguar's XKR-S cabriolet - MSN Cars UK (blog) February 09, 2012

Despite aluminium doors and bonnet, its 0-60mph time of 7.8sec and maximum speed of 140mph did not compare well even with the cheaper Jaguar XJ-S's 7sec and 150mph. It might have been conceived as a GT with an environmentally sound engine – the V8

The XJ looks like nothing else on the road, and makes the Audi A8, BMW 7 Series and Mercedes S-Class look sterile. Interior Inside, the Jaguar XJ mixes traditional woods and leathers with the latest technology – and it mostly works. The latest Jaguar XJ does what we all wanted it to. look forward. Styling It might not please everyone, but the Jaguar XJ is a fantastic departure from the traditional look of old. The Mercedes S-Class is a better all-rounder though as the XJ's sharp handling comes at the expense of some comfort. rear seat room is better in the S-Class and Audi A8, too. That front end, with its slim lights and imposing grille looks the business and the sweeping profile is gorgeous. Equipment is generous, with leather-trimmed, electrically adjustable front seats, dual-zone climate control and twin glass sunroofs all as standard. It gets a dramatic shape with a bold grille and a distinctive sweeping profile, while no other car in the class is as involving to drive. It's...
Q:
A: Start engine, keeping transmission in park. Open the hood.
Near the back of your engine bay (close to the bottom of your windshield) should be a dipstick, probably with a red handle. This is your transmission fluid dipstick. You may or may not have to flip the handle up to pull it out of it's tube.
Pull out the dipstick, near the end of it should be some hashmarked areas with "Full" and "Add". If it's at or near full, leave it alone. If it's just below full, and your engine hasn't warmed up yet, leave it alone. If it's at Add, look into your owners manual to see what kind of ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) your Jag requires. Purchase it at your local auto parts store or dealership, along with a small funnell.
Again, with the engine running and transmission in park, remove your transmission dipstick, insert the funnell, and SLOWLY add the correct ATF. Maybe a fourth of a quart between inserting the dipstick all the way in and checking the level. When it's within the "full" zone, close it all up, and pat yourself on the back for having done something that most Jaguar owners simply leave to their butlers to do. Q:
A: do they even MAKE the Phaeton anymore?
If you're looking for a good full size sedan with lots of guts, comfortable, nice looking, good mileage, etc consider a 1 or 2 year old Avalon. They're basically a Lexus ES350 without all the glitz. You can find them for around $24K used with about 20,ooo miles or less. Whatever you do, you should dump that Jag. Riding the bus is more dependable (answered by Sarge1572 on September 28, 2007)
