An XJ experience
The light afternoon showers failed to dampen the spirits of guests who were at the Jaguar XJ Experience lyme held on the grounds of ATL Automotive's Oxford Road headquarters last Thursday. The soirée, held in association with the National Commercial Bank's (NCB) Private Banking Division, saw specially invited clients of the financial institution being acquainted with the automotive dealership's offerings. Brian Stevenson, managing director of ATL Automotive, had high expectations for the lyme. Jaguar XJs, Audis, VWs and Land Rovers all sparkled under the evening sky.

I know someone who is selling it for $1300. He says it was a trade in and doesn't know whats wrong with it. would it be cheap to fix, or something i could do on my own? or should I not even bother?(asked by nick on January 25, 2008)
A: Here are the symptoms of a bad catalytic converter
-great light throttle driving BUTT the harder you pres the go -pedal the slower it goes
-check engine soon light
-the engine will slow to and idle and possibly die
-Hard starting
-gutless
-gas guzzling
-Lack of power
-sluggish performance
-cat actually implodes on itself
-stalling
-car will loose power when warmed up
-sluggish on takeoff
-may smell rotten eggs
-bad smell from the tail pipe
-sounds and runs like someone put a potato in your tail pipe
-car seems bogged down
-Markedly decreased low rpm power
-Engine runs a little hotter than normal at constant cruising speeds
-Exhaust leaks near header that won't seal in spite of new gaskets
-Bucking or hesitation while accelerating
-Cat's exterior surface temp cooler near outlet
-Very poor accelleration
-actually bogs down more the harder you push the gas
-high converter temp. to a point that they will glow red
-Ever experienced constipation?
Start off and at first, not too bad, but something isn't right. The longer you go without relief the worse your performance. Things just don't go right, things smell, got no get-up-and-go left.
It is kinda like that when a car's cat melts down. When yo first start, it MAY seem kinda o.k. but you can't really put your finger on the problem. But the longer you drive it, and the warmer it gets, the less willing it seems to go anywhere, particularly very fast or with much of a load.
-when u hit the accelerator the car usally will shut itself off (answered by jameson_221 on January 25, 2008)

Q:
How many 1982 Jaguar Van den Plas XJ12 automatic/economy are left in the world and what is it worth?
Apparently Jaguar made only 76 of those models in that year. I was told 4 left in the world and I have one of these in good condition. It has had about $50,000 in restorations and has 185,000 KM on motor. I was told from a local autopart dealer that it must be worth 1.5 million dollars, but what is it really worth?(asked by Jagcarcrazy on January 20, 2008)
A: There is no such vehicle. (answered by Otto on January 20, 2008)
Q:
Is it possible to have an LPG tank installed into a Jaguar XJ6 or XJ12 series 3?
Also how much would it cost? The XJ6 has a V8 motor while the XJ12 has a V12. Will this still be possible?
Also. The Australian Goverment give you money back for installing it in your car. How much does it cost and how much do they give back?
oops. the XJ6 has a V6 not V8
