Q:
a question about a jeep cherokee lift?
I have a jeep cherokee sport. I have lifted it 3 inches up front and about 1.5 in the back so it sits pretty level. I have the stock rims the 15x7 with a set of 235-75-15 on it. I want to put a set of 31-10.50-15 on it, do I need to buy new rims? Im afraid that the backspacing on the stock rims isnt enough for the 31s. (asked by Joshua on December 02, 2008)
A: I think they should work fine. Since it is just 10.50s. (answered by Dusty L on December 02, 2008)
Q:
Can any one help me with jeep cherokee lift kits ?
OK i got a 1995 jeep Cherokee Laredo and i am wanting a lift kit for it! Now i see kits that are for jeep XJ or TJ and ZJ! and i wanted to know if they would work on my jeep cherokee Laredo? Im realy wanting a 3 or 4 inch lift for it but i cant find a kit FOR laredo i want to know if the kits for a XJ or ZJ would work!
Thank you for the help! (asked by Cody on January 26, 2009)
A: ***EDIT***
My bad, it is an XJ, I read it as a GRAND Cherokee Larado, so sorry.
A 1995 Jeep G. Cherokee is a ZJ. Laredo is just a trim package. Any of the kits for a ZJ will work. Most of my Cherokee buddys run Iron Rock Offroad (IRO) lifts on their rigs (they only make suspensions for the XJ, ZJ and WJ's), but I hear good things about Rusty's Off Road as well. Of course you can't go wrong with the tried and true Rubicon Express.
FYI, the Cherokee line factory designations:
XJ: 1984 - 2001 Cherokee
MJ: 1986 - 1992 Comanche (the Cherokee Pickup)
ZJ: 1993 - 1998 Grand Cherokee
WJ: 1998 - 2004 Grand Cherokee
WK: 2005- Grand Cherokee (answered by Joey on January 26, 2009)
A: You need a kit for the cherokee the others are for the smaller jeeps.
Check out Rugged Trail, Rancho, Sky Jacker etc. on the web they can hook you up. (answered by warriorfstride on January 26, 2009)
Q:
what drive shaft adjustments will I need for a 4.5" 1994 2wd jeep cherokee xj lift?
I'm getting a free 4.5" jeep cherokee lift kit from my friend and I am wondering what driveshaft adjustments i'm going to need in order for this to happen. I'm told i need the front drive shaft from a 4wd jeep cherokee. Can you please help me? thankyou in advanced (asked by Zachary on November 21, 2009)
A: Yeah you'll need to get the front drive shaft from a 4wd so you'll be able to get power to your front axle.
But you'll also need to change the angle of the shaft. The place that you get it installed might do that, but it's good to make sure.
You wanna make sure you get an extended brake line too.
Oh and when you get bigger tires, you're gonna need to change the gear ratio.
Stock is 3.55, which is what i have right now. for example, I'm gonna be getting a 3" lift with 31" tires. So with that diameter of tire, I need to change my ratio to 4.10. (answered by thunderbirdiv94 on November 25, 2009)
